GROW Beginner's Guide: How to verify Accredited Investor

Updated: Sep 14, 2023

What is an Accredited Investor?

An accredited investor is a term used in finance and investing to describe a person who is financially sophisticated and has a high net worth. Each country has its own requirements, typically income or net worth metrics, and these financial requirements serve to protect individuals who may not have the financial knowledge or experience to make informed investment decisions. By limiting certain investment opportunities to accredited investors, regulators aim to reduce the risk of financial losses for those who are not equipped to handle them.

Preparing for Accredited Investor Verification

Accredited Investor verification is the process of confirming that an individual meets the financial criteria required to be considered an accredited investor. The verification process typically involves providing proof of income, net worth, and other financial information. Here's a guide for GROW

Accredited Investor Verification :

  1. Gather financial information: The individual must provide financial information, such as their income, net worth, and assets, to verify their accredited investor status. This information can be in the form of tax returns, bank statements, and other financial documents.

  2. Provide documentation: For certain countries, GROW users need to provide documentation to support their financial information. Please submit the documents to the email (customer@grow3.io). Please refer to the Details of documents required for Accredited Investor verification. - United States : Link

  3. Wait for verification: We will review your accompanying documentation to confirm the individual's accredited investor status. This process can take up to 3 business days, depending on the entity. If verification is successful, the account status will automatically be converted and the deposit/withdrawal function will be activated. If verification fails, the reason for failure will be sent to the user's email.

Please note: If the required documents for Accredited Investor verification are sent by email before the completion of the KYC, the Accredited Investor verification will be conducted after the completion of the KYC. If the nationality selected by the KYC differs from the nationality for the Accredited Investor verification, there may be restrictions on the Accredited Investor certification examination.
